Frances Lavette Jones of Charlottesville departed this life on July 15, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. She was born in Charlottesville on December 8, 1971. She was the daughter of the late Raymond Key and Margaret Jones. Mary Woodfolk Key raised her because her parents died at an early age. One sister, Pam Jones and an uncle, Isaac Jones preceded her in death.
She was a graduate of Charlottesville High School. In her pastime she enjoyed listening to music; and her love of family and friends led her to spend time cooking for and playing cards with them. She was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need and her positive spirit uplifted all who were around her. She enjoyed work and was dedicated to her position, and could often be found working long beyond the normal work hours. Some who knew her might have thought of her as work- a-holic; nevertheless her work ethic was one of the qualities that others admired. She was employed with Tiger Fuel for twenty-two years.
She leaves to cherish her memory 2 brothers, Raymond Allen Key, Jr. of Charlottesville and Chris Curry of Fluvanna, VA; 4 sisters, Kim K. Henderson of Charlottesville and Carolyn Keyes of Philadelphia, PA, Mary Bell and Barbara Bell of Charlottesville; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 P.M. on Monday, 21, 2014 at Pilgrim Baptist Church with the Reverend Mary Smith presiding and Pastor Timothy Jackson delivering the eulogy. Interment will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the services.
