Warner Wesley, III (age 81), of Charlottesville departed this life Tuesday, November 29, 2011, at his residence. He was born January 25, 1930, in White Hall, Virginia, the third of seven children of the late Warner Wesley, Jr. and Gladys Frye Wesley. He was a graduate of Albemarle Training School and also of Virginia State College (now University) where he joined the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. Warner was an honorably discharged Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a Welder/Ironworker at Harry Wright’s, Inc., from which he retired after many years of employment. He was a longstanding member who served in various capacities at Rose Hill Baptist Church, 2421 Rose Hill Church Road, Charlottesville, VA, where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, December 7, 2011, by the Pastor, Rev. Jeffrey King. Viewing and family visitation will be 10:00 a.m. until time of the home-going celebration at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Mount Olivet Baptist Church Cemetery, White Hall.

Warner was married to his beloved wife, Helen Smith Wesley, for 44 years until her passing in January 2005. He was also preceded by two brothers, Richard and Henry Wesley, and a sister, Alice E.W. Ivory, all of Charlottesville. He leaves to cherish his memory three sisters, Pearl W. Parker of Lawrenceville, VA; Janie M. Edwards of Aurora, CO; and Elsie W. Burwell of Clarksville, VA; two brothers-in-law, Thomas W. Smith of Charlottesville, and Everette Burwell, Sr., of Clarksville; one sister-in-law, Ophelia Smith of the Rose Hill Community; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Wednesday, December 7, 2011 at Rose Hill Baptist Church. Interment will follow in White Hall cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
