James Edward "Bud" Barbour, 64, of Charlottesville, Virginia died on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born in Charlottesville on December 11, 1942 the son of the late Eugene Barbour and Mary Frances Barbour. He was preceded in death by, three sisters, Mary Louise Barbour, Katherine Barbour Burton and Frances Yvonne Bryant. Mr. Barbour received his formal education in the Charlottesville Public School System and attended Burley High School. He retired after many years of service as a custodian at Johnson Elementary School. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Alberta Barbour of Charlottesville; one son, Tony Barbour of Charlottesville; one daughter, Bridgett Barbour of Charlottesville; one brother, Eugene “Ray” Barbour and wife Mary of Charlottesville and one step daughter, Crystal Mickey of Buckingham, VA; one granddaughter, Uniqua Barbour; two grandsons, Richard and Onajah Robinson; two step granddaughters, Quania Mickey and Avantae Logan; one step grandson, Delano Logan; one step, great granddaughter, Yum Yum; three aunts, Ethel Nodie Miller, Lucille Martin, and Goldie Barbour; three uncles, Ernest Thompson, Russell Thompson, and Sam Thompson; one special niece, Kim Burton and a special friend, Earl Haskins; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, August 4, 2007 at Pilgrim Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. R. A. Johnson officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. J. F. Bell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. |
